FREE ENTRY

Let’s start off with this attention grabber, FREE entry. There are not many activities for families that don’t cost a cent, but the Geelong Botanic Gardens is one them!

THE BOLLARDS

Geelong's iconic upright characters are a must see. More than 100 of these icons are scattered throughout Geelong, including in and around the Botanic Gardens. Kids will love spotting and snapping themselves with these beauties.

WALKING PATHS

Spend hours meandering the pathways of the gardens, all of which are gentle walks for little ones, some of which are pram accessible. Roam your way through the 21st Century Garden, Conservatory, Rose Garden, Forgotten Garden, Temperate Garden and Curiosity Cabinet. Each section offers a different environment for the kids to unearth.

PICNIC ON THE LAWN

Take a break from your explorations, find yourself a shady tree and section of lush lawn (hint: there are plenty). Shake out your picnic rug and enjoy a family feast in the sunshine. From the Walnut Lawn to the Oak Lawn to the Flag Lawn, there is many a setting to plant yourself for a picnic.

EVERYONE’S INVITED

No need to leave anyone at home, the whole family is invited! The Geelong Botanic Gardens are pooch friendly, and furry family members are permitted to explore the gardens with you - just keep the leads on at all times and of course, pick up their poop.

THE PLAYSPACE

An award-winning playground is perfectly placed next to the Geelong Botanic Gardens. This imaginative adventure area is set amidst the leafy gardens of Eastern Park and includes a plethora of play equipment; wooden pirate ship, musical bell bridge, sandpit, colossal climbing wall, talking tubes, bamboo tunnel and cottage ruins. It is highly interactive, a whole lot of fun and the ideal way to finish off a great day at the Geelong Botanic Gardens with the kids.
